OK I didnt beleive it was possible, and i wouldnt have believed it if i hadn't seen it, but tonight I watched a Deisel F-250 4x4 with 35's getpulled out by a regular cab shortbox ranger with a 2.3L!!!
This F-250 was resting on its frame rails and there was no tire to be seen, 5 Half ton trucks tried to extractit and couldnt get it to budge. my buddy shawn deceided he'd give it a try in his ranger. so 60 feet of strap and 3 gears later he had the F-250 sucked out of this mudpit, the only damage was he slightly bent his rear bumper!!

no pics yet i'm waiting for my buddy to put them on his comp!

Ok, that's one I would find hard to believe.

I saw a F-250 get stuck deep in a mud hole on a midnight run. We had (2) Rangers try and winch it at the same time (yes, they were pulling in the same direction!) and they couldn't budge it. The only way we got it out was to hook 4 or 5 Rangers up end to end with tow straps and tug it out. It was stuck pretty bad!

Ive had my Ranger sitting on the frame rails and we couldnt get it out with winches, straps, pushing/pulling. Hell I had a toyota put his bumper on mine and a cherokee with a strap pulling. The toy pushed and the cherokee pulled and still nothing. And I was only on 31's! I will have to see pictures and a video to 100% believe this one.

where are the action shots?

Appearently there's a vid thats going to be on you tube i havent found it yet but we also just did this tonight!

the key to the whole thing was having 60 feet of straps and im sure he must have been doing about 30mph by the time they were tight, and with a 3000lb truck moving at 30 MPH it def had enough kenetic energy to overcome the friction of the mud on the F-250.

I'm not saying this could happen It did.
i was there i would bet my truck on it

Proof will be required. I mean, 30mph on a strap? The strap would break or that Ranger would. I have to call shenanigans on this one.

not the straps i use...traps i use would stop a ranger dead doin 80mph.....gotta love living next to the army base and getting free tank recovery straps :)

Those straps wouldn't break, but guess what would?

probably your teeth from the jolt of the truck coming to a stop.....

btw tank straps are 14" wide streatch straps with a breaking strenth of 250k pounds

i used to use them with my old suburabn (k20 diesel) to recover anything that got stuck, even once recovered a old duece after more then a dozen yanks

I can see it happening... Just the right amount of traction at the right time.

A video would make it a lot more beliveable though.

A 30mph yank on the strap would be equivalent to hitting a small parked car at 30 mph in terms of deceleration. The force would destroy whatever you hooked to. You can't expect me or anyone here to believe this story. Can you?
Post the video, prove us wrong.

well two of the straps were 80,000lb rated and the stretch strap was 60 000lbs. the stretch strap would give about 3 feet when he pulled it tight. it was the most rediculous thing i've ever seen while wheeling. as soon as i can find the vid I'll post it!
