before you say anything, i posted in this section, because i am 99% sure the diff is an 8.8 which is the same diff as the ranger... and this section's discription said d28 d35 7.5 & 8.8
while i was talking to my dad, he was talking about his truck having some problems, it's a 96 f-150 reg cab long box 4x2 manual trans 5L with i believe 4.10's in it. He was saying that after backing out of the driveway, and turning left to leave (90* corner) he hears a loud bang coming from the rear end, he said that it sounds to him like a limited slip unloading, but that doesn't really make sense to me, as clutches typically slip smoothly... he also seems to think he's got a trac-loc in it, but i don't think he does... as far as i know, he's never done the fluid in it, and it's got about 250 000+ km on it... he is planning on selling the truck, but i figured it's an easy enough job to change the fluid that might take care of it... anyone had this problem or know what might be causing that bang?
