Extremely Difficult Shifting

Another issue with my truck cropped up over the holidays...yay. It is an M5OD-R1. When I bought it, I knew it needed a throwout bearing, but put the money towards other more immediate needs (like brakes) and drove it anyway. It always made a clunking sound upon the clutch pedal being pushed. Now, I can't hear the clunk anymore, but it is extremely dificult to put into any gear while running. With the engine off, it goes in just fine. It just feels like theres a huge resistance, and once I force it hard enough it breaks through it and goes in the rest of the way fine. It doesn't grind, nothing. Could this be the end result of the throwout bearing finally caving, and I should just replace the clutch and everything?

not really sure.......it sounds like the slave is not getting depressed all the way. is the slave leaking ? there is an inspection hole that lets you see the slave. see how much it is getting depressed. is the master cylinder leaking?
 
Your symptom is a classic description of a bad slave cylinder.
It could be the Master, but slaves are most common.
 
I've been doing lots of looking online, and I am thinking it is the slave cylinder too. It seems to only get bad when I'm doing lots of driving thought, like on the highway. In town my trips are pretty short all the time, so its not too bad. I will try to take a look at everything tomorrow on my day off. My plan has always been to change my clutch soon anyway, so doing the slave at the same time won't be hardly any extra work.

Edit: Where is the inspection cover?
