Extractor Needed to Replace Cab Mount Bushings?

LMC Truck seems to offer everything, too. What's nice is that you can pick & choose what you need as opposed to buying an entire kit. They even offer 'mini-kits' to do just one mount location, if that's what you want. So, need to replace the entire cab mount at the core but only need the bushings for the other four locations? You can do that @ LMC.

I only really needed a couple so I bought large washers from the local John Deere dealer and some tubing from the local metal place.

My mounts had to be removed with a sawzall and impact hammer.

I made my own hardware kit for the new James Duff poly mounts from 1" OD tubing, 1/4" wall, and reamed the bushings to fit 1/2" bolts and used conduit for the 5/8" bolts used up front. I took tons of pictures on how to do it, I just have not had time to write an article. I used 3x3" tie plates (1/2" hole) and pipe nipples (had 3" inch wide ones which measure 2.5" tall, in a bucket in the garage) to make the 3" body lift. I put 1/4" rivet nuts in the nipples so I can easily add body panels later to hide the gap.

I'm very fortunate to have a truck from where salt isn't used much, if at all. And, this truck hasn't seen much usage (it's just over 100K).

All of the bolts came out using a 1/2" breaker bar and ratchet. I'll be able to re-use 3 of the 6 bolts. I replaced the two up by the radiator support and the one in the driver's side foot well (due to corrosion). The two at the rear of the cab aren't even rusty, the one from the passenger footwell will clean up. Of course, PB Blaster was very helpful in their removal.

The hardest part was using a 5 lb. hammer and large a drift to beat the lower retainer out of the rear-most mounts. I used my version of the 'extractor' on the mid-mounts and the ones up front just unthreaded.

I used a tap to clean up all of the threads in the retainers and re-assembled with marine grease. A lousy job to be sure, but not as bad as it could have been.

I replaced my back cab mounts, core support mounts are long gone. Front cab mounts are good for now but drivers side front rib on bottom of cab is getting rotted, might have to do something about that.
