I spoke with Jim today about setting up a section for detailing, and he suggested putting together a thread for this purpose. Now I'm not sure how well keeping track of different ideas will go, but if it shows enough interest, we can possibly get a section set up.
Now, I'm sure the process of detailing goes pretty much the same for everyone. Rinse~Wash~Rinse~Dry, but I'm hoping to share a few trick's people have found along the way. Feel Free to post up any ideas you've had, and if you have questions about paint, stains, or basicaly anything cleaning related, its welcome here!
In this thread, we will stick to exterior detail, and I will set up a Sticky in the Interior section for such things related.
Ill start with one trick i found by accident. I mainly use a product called AutoGlym. This stuff is a bit more expensive, but ive been very impressed with the results it has given me.
I found that their rubber and vinyl spray makes fantastic wheel shine, and has also restored the shine to my fadded rims. Its only a temporary fix, but it works between washes. All you do is spray it on very lightly, and wipe it on with a rag.
