Ok im tired of wheeling my 89 Ranger 4x4 and not haveing any front end flex. buddy of mine says to junk my d28 ttb and stick a dana 30 jeep front under it with a 4 link. However my goal on my truck is to build it with as much stock Ford parts as I can and out wheel any jeep on the trail. Right now my front is bone stock with the exception of some coil spacers. Im thinking of fabing up some extended radius arms with heim joints to increase flex. Who has done this and how much flex could you get without arching the axle beams?? I got a trip comin up last weekend of july and I wanna get started on this probably this weekend.

You can get as much as 18" of travel from a TTB when designed right, a TRS member has done it, I think its DBAD, but 86 slo-vo would know for sure...
You can get an early bronco axle (73-77 bronco, Dana 44), which is almost the same width as the ranger, or take a FW Dana 44 and cut the passenger side exactly 6 inches which will bring it to EB width...

Extended arms do certainly help (and are required to get flex comparable to a fixed-up Jeep), but you also need to run comparable springs too (the stiff TTB coil springs are huge limiters of flex). Some clearancing inside the passengerside beam will be needed for shaft clearance.

However I'd strongly suggest losing that D28 no matter what, it's just not a strong axle at all. If you want to run the TTB, get a D35 for it. The D35 comes in anywhere from a hair stronger to much stronger than the D30 Jeep front as well (depending on what version D30 you compare it to).

I get 20" on mine...

Specs are in sig link (cardomain).

Your rig is awesome junkie! Is that the rubicon in that picture?

Yep, taken just a little ways in past the Slabs.
Thanks
