So I was wondering if anyone could explain the advantages/disadvantages of using drop brackets for your radius arms, as apposed to extending them, or buying extended ones?

Thanks.

well, you end up buying new brackets either way, drop brackets is cheaper, extended offers more travel.

What is your rig setup for (lift, wheeling habits, tire size, etc)?? What type of trails do you go on?? What are you wanting/trying to accomplish with extended arms/drop brackets??

There would be less bind at the bushing if you use extended arms. Also less caster change. Hold a pencil firmly between two fingers half way down, move the end up and down 2". Then do the same holding the pencil at the end, you'll feel [and see] the difference.

The current plan is to push for 4-6" of lift with maximum articulation... Its mostly a trail/mud truck, but some basic crawler capabilities would be nice too.

Got 31" tires now, gonna upgrade to 33s once the truck is lifted and I have more funds.

On my old truck, I ripped out the front sway bar but never drove it again.. (Blown clutch) Is that a good idea? I figured it would give me maximum articulation with stock suspension?

Wanting max articulation, you will want the extended arms, whether custom or bought. You will need to get extended brake lines for sure, and I also suggest getting limiting straps :icon_thumby:

Limiting straps eh? Where abouts would they attach to my truck?

Thanks.

They can be put in a couple different places...I've seen them from coil bucket to beam, from frame to RA, from upper shock mount to lower shock mount...

In short, slap those babies in wherever I find a nice fit and they don't interfere?

Yep, thats about it!!
