would it work to put a extended cab on a long bed frame and cut down the bed a little bit? i would like more room but keep my wheel base shorter.

p.s. the dog is cramped in the floorboard. he would love the space:icon_twisted:

I had a friend that did this. I don't have the details, but it can be done. Just guessing, but you are probably going to have to move/make a couple of body mounts.

I don't have any pictures of it. He did this about 6 years ago, has rolled it and replaced the cab several times since then. It looked pretty good. He didn't run a box on it. He chopped the frame just past the rear spring hangers and welded a brace between the frame rails. He ran the stock tail lights for a while and eventually went to some round LED's when he put a flat bed on it. I personally like the look, but I also like a Ranger single cab on a B2 frame.

That actually looks kinda neat....

Forget ever putting a fiberglass topper on it though....

An aluminum topper could be shortened to match easily enough...

I do like the dual tanks:)

i might mod my old s10 gem-top its aluminum ans a steel outer. plus a back door great for campin gear and trail haulin

i'll probly bob it as much as i can before i loose the rear tank. thats my favorite option.... dual tanks and 2 5 gal jerry cans i can almost go every where and back:D. i'll still have room for 1 fullsize spare , all my spare parts ill need and my camping gear. the truck is going to be a 1st gen d30 or d44 sas ntm it will be odg to match my camp gear:icon_hornsup:
