i got a 92 ford explorer, 2dr,5spd, electronic 4x4, sometimes in 2wd you put it in gear, let the clutch out and it doesnt move, its like it is not in gear at all, shift into 4wd and it doesnt work, shift into 4lo and it moves, it also does this when you are driving on the road as well, i changed out the 4wd actuater with one that came from a vehicle that worked and it still does it....so now what is the problem??:icon_confused::dunno:

hmm, thats a tough one. does it do it alll the time or just now and then?

i cant take it down the road for a test drive without it happening:annoyed:

That's weird, how sloppy is the shifter? Might just not be going into gear all the way or at all. Might also suspect the clutch - like it's getting stuck disengaged.

i was gonna say the clutch too has the vehicle sat for any period of time

when you shift gears, does it feel like the shifter is actually engaging?? im thinking transmission..... drop your tranny and take a look inside...

i'll take it for a test drive this morning and get back to you guys...
