Hi guys,
I been trying to research and i'm getting some half answers. Because everything i find is about using it on Lifted Rangers.
I have a 94 Ranger XLT 4.0, so it has a 8.8 rear. i think the rear end is bad, truck has been sitting for years so it's my project i bought. I want to bag it and lower it and have fun with it. Now to the meat and potatoes. Will a Rear end from a 95+ explorer with Disk pretty much bolt right in since i don't need to flip the spring perches, since i'm not lifting the truck? And it looks like it is a inch wider. Has anyone with a lowered Ranger done this? What else am i missing, What should i watch for? Any Tips?
Thanks Very Much

I have this axle in my stock ranger. With the factory wheel/tire combo I would have enough room to drop it without slicing tires up.

You will see about 4" of drop from just bolting it in with the longer Explorer springs.

You're missing shock mounts. They arent on the axle on the Explorer.

Other then that, it should work fine.

Could the shock mount/leaf spring plate from the Explorer be used for this application?

I guess so, but you'd need 2 drivers side plates. The Explorer shocks both face toward the rear, Ranger shocks are staggered front and back.

It's been done. BobbyWalter used to run that setup with two driver's plates before he switched to 60s.

Thanks guys, I read about the Shocks and such, the only thing i'm left wondering is, The Drive shaft mounting plate on my ranger a bolt up, or do i need to change the end to an Explorer Plate?

It will bolt up.
