faulty temp sensor, a poor connection on the vss, check all your connections

i guess its the connection with the vss because the readings i get are accurate its only i drive that it starts blinking. Been too lazy to pull it out and check. lol

Not that hard. Just a bit tedious running the wires but not hard at all. The tech library explains it very good so thats good info.

how did you tap into the wire? and where?

i have to double check on that cause i did not do it the proper way i think. I just peeled the grey with black cable and hooked the grey with black cable on the ovh harness.

I don't mean to thread hijack, but can I do this swap to a 1992. With the lighted visors, auto dim mirror, temp, compass, and map lights? it would be awesome to have everything work in a 92

Yeah, I peeked in there. But it didn't give like a year range that it would work so before I went through the hassle of parts hunting, wanted to make sure it was possible

Theres a couple of threads that show the years annd consoles. Hit up the search button and you should find them.

It will work fine. I have a 92 Super Cab thats my project truck and I have the lighted visors, the over head console, the bigger three light interior light, etc. I havent done it yet, just dropped everything off at my interior guy, but my brother and I studied the hell out of the tech guide and he owns and runs a custom car shop and he confirmed its a piece of cake to do, the hardest part being pulling wire ( not much) and mounting the bracket to the roof for the over head console. All in all a pretty simple, single afternoon upgrade.

did this ever get solved? your connection to the vss should be, if i remember right, a green wire with a black stripe and should be somewhere in the drivers side inner fenderwell. my suggestion would be to get so of those blue clamp connectors that are designed to tap off a wire and replace your connection and seal it well
