For those of you that have put the explorer leafs on a BII did you use the BII shackle or the Explorer one? I started removing my worn and tired springs when I noticed that the BII shackles are shorter that the Explorer ones. Can I use the Ex ones? Will I get any extra lift from them??

Steve

Explorer shackles are different and won't fit.

If you want longer ones, you could get the BellTech 6400s to replace your bII shackles with.

Thanks Junkie! You are the man.

Steve

the EX shackles bolt directly to the frame, ranger/b2 shackles are on a hanger. you can go to a parts store and get chevy lowering shackles (they're exactly like the belltech 6400's mentioned above) and they'll give you some lift as well and at about half the price.

Yes the BII shackles bolt directly to the Ex leafs. I just completed this swap n it is a bolt on ONCE u get ur old leafs off. Make sure u have sawsall, grinder of cutoff wheel to remove the old bolts tha hold the original leafs on cause they didn't use anti seize when they put them together.

i got mine loosened with a 1/2" ratchet and my BFG, i think i was lucky
