hey ya'll so today i tore out my old rear leafs outta my 85' longbed and was comparing the old springs to the ex leafs i was/am planning on putting in and noticed that my old leafs have ALOT more arch/curve to them then the explorer leafs. WTF ???? is this common or not. at this point i'm thinking i'm just gona put new bushings in the old ones and use them. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanx

anyone ???? i'm hoping to remedy this problem 2marrow and get this thing back on the road.

its when there side by side, exact same length, the old ones have alot more arc and about the same amount of tension- i jumped up and down on both sets and measured how much each compressed :D i mite try taking some extra add-a-leafs i have and putting them in the ex pack and see if that helps any, if not i'm stickn with the oldies and thrown' the explor leafs in my junk pile and then that would be a waste of 20$.

From what I hear, the ex leaves are quite a bit flatter than ranger leaves. The extra height (when used on a ranger) is from greater leaf thickness.

If you want more arch out of the leaf springs, you could make a franken-pack by weaving a couple of you're ranger leafs into the exploder springs, making a five-leaf pack out of the two. Just my .02, good luck!

well, i added a add-a leaf to the ex leafs and didn't help, i tried differend combos of old ranger leafs and ex leafs combined with each other. couldn't get enough arch to match the old ones. put my belltec's in and just used the old ranger leafs. sits exactly the same but now there is no stacked blocks :headbang: only problem is that now the longer shackle is hittn my tail pipe when being compressed, so tomarrow or sat, i'm gona cut it and route it another way. kinda a royal PITA but now its done.
