I saw in the sticky post about showing your truck that KLOGTRUCK listed his BII has having an explorer headliner installed in it. Hmm, I'll have to look further into that. It's been my experience that the Ex headliner is tougher and a better insulator than what the BIIs have. That's based on removing mine to replace the liner fabric and pulling parts from Ex's in the JY. Don't know why I never thought about comparing them and/or swapping in an Ex headliner. Obviously there might be some trimming issues but I was wondering if anyone had info on/done this. Thanks again!
 
i just redid my b2 one.. its not hard.
 
Yeah I redid mine a while back as well. Had to fix quite a few cosmetic isues with the headliner backer and wanted to delete the plastic button holding up the back half. However, I am always looking for ways to improve/upgrade my toys. And as I noted before the Ex headlliners seem to made of a tougher more resilent material than that used in the BII, at least in 1987. Why not upgrade when replacing I say. I'll look into this and report what I find out.
 
I just don't see how the EX's headliner will fit a b2. It's longer? Do you trim it? Like board and all?!
 
Don't know yet. I gotta get all the parts from my Ex into my BII to clear up some garage space so I can get and lay out a complete Ex headliner but it's already 20 degrees here and snowing so that makes trips to the JY more like a Polar Expedtion than a quick trip. I'll let all know how it works out if someone doesn't beat me to it.
 
I'm in MS and it don't snow! Lol. But yeah, let me know. I'm curious. Lol.
 
Hey guys, hav an '85 with a headliner that looks more like a curtain than a headliner. Is it difficult to do... Haven't ripped it down but how do you get the board down that the material is mounted to...or in my case...supposed to be mounted to?
 
I did mine when I had all the interior stripped out. Which is the easiest way. Two ppl work it out then carry thru the liftgate. Just be careful and remember it's 20 years old and could break. If it does it's simple to repair tho.
