Explorer Engine for my Ranger

I have located a 07 Explorer Engine for my 05 Ranger. Can someone tell me what
I (or the mechanic doing the work) will have to do to make this Engine work in
my truck.
The guy wants 650 for the Engine and has 78k on it.

you tell us little or nothing about either vehicle, so hard to answer. If both trucks are the 4.0L SOHC them the Explorer long block should bolt right in using your electronics and accessory package.

Intake and exhaust manifolds, and probably the thermostat housing will have to be swapped. That should be it.
