I am wanting to build an explorer DD and weekend warrior..
my question is can the Ranger lifts be converted to work on and explorer
'90-'94, I think the front wouldn't be a problem but on the rear if you fliped the spring pads it would throw the lift off... any help would be appreciated..
the reason for the questions is I want more than 5.5" of lift offered for the explore Im thinking 8" skyjacker...

The suspension section would be a better place to ask that question.

youll gain somewhere around 5" of lift in the rear just by flipping the spring perches. add a longer shackle and youre looking at another 2" of lift. the front lifts are the same for any ttb ranger and explorer.

I wouldn't suggest 8" of lift, the steering is downright horrid when it's lifted that high.

Get a 6" Skyjacker lift for it together with the pt# FA600 drop pitman arm (not the one that comes with the lift), and then add a 2" body lift atop that. It'll be much more manageable on the road this way (not to mention your tires will wear longer too).

As said, Ranger stuff works on the front of the Explorer.
