Hey I have a 92 ranger stx and the rear end has quite a bit of slop in it. It really gets your attention when you start to accelerate after coasting. I was looking at the JY today and couldn't find an exact axle, but thanks to cash for clunkers there is a lot of explorer axles for cheap. They are wider than my axle though, so I thought I would ask a couple of questions first.

1. Will a wider rear than front axle cause any handling problems?
2. If no how much width difference is there between a my 92 ranger, a 93 ranger, and a pre disc, and disc brake explorer axle?

The axle info is not up on the tech page.

Thanks

It is 3" wider than your axle. As for handling problems I doubt you would even notice it.

It is 3" wider than your current rear end, but it is also the same width as your current front end. It won't be wider than the front.

IF you consider BETTER handling to be a problem don't do it, but the old pontiac commercials were absolutely correct, wider is better.
