I am looking for a set of C-Clip eliminators for an Explorer 8.8 w/ disc brakes.

Can I get a price on them, a shipping price, and a lead time?

With? disc brakes? or without? I always forget what "w/" means, lol. If you have discs why do you need c clip eliminators? Or is that really foolhardy?

c-clip eliminators have nothing to do with the brakes. The replace the weak c-clips that hold the axle shaft in the housing.

Yes, but if you have discs they will keep the axle in and wheel attached in the event of an axle breakage. no? If you have drums and the axle breaks, the wheel can leave I thought....

doenst matter which style brakes you have, if the c-clip brakes, then your axle can and will come out of the housing.

No, it won't. The rotor, caliper and caliper mount will hold the axle and tire onto the housing. And I wouldn't be worrying about 'weak' c clips on a 31 spline 8.8 anyway......

If you are that worried about it Superior Gear and Axle sells a kit called the Super 88, has c clip eliminators.

I also know moser sells them for the 28 splines, not sure about the 31's

if i haven't broken them yet, i doubt they're breakable in a stock powered rbv :D

With disc brakes how could it come out? It would have to snap the two grade 8 bolts that hold the caliper on.

yea I realized that after I said it wouldn't matter...

I'm running drums on mine with 36x12.50r15 TSL SX's and i'm not worried about the axles popping, i'd spend the money elsewhere on the truck

Good call...that would cover 1/2 the cost of the locker for the Dana 35! ;-)

since the 8.8 is a l/s, no need to put a locker in its place.

It has been said time and time again, a LS is not a locker. I know you know this. But dont expect lockidge out of a LS. No need to lock it right away, but I suspect it should just go on the list. lol
