Exotic Swap For Me

I've been offline for sometime now and feel the need to get back into the loop. I will be picking up a gifted step side Ranger with 4 cylinder, manual trans. Motor is shot. My plan is to remove engine & transmission and swap a Mercedes C230 engine & transmission. I think this could be called a total rebuild. I will have the complete donor car. I have time, tools and the desire to get this project moving. To any of you guys knowledge, have any members made such a swap?

What year is the ranger? Sometimes the later years can give you grief with fancy security features and computer controlled clusters and body control modules.

I think it is 92-94. It belongs to my brother and he don't remember. My plan is to use whatever components, modules and harnesses from the Mercedes to make it work. I am currently pondering my dash instrumentation. It is very likely that I will have some digital device that runs off of the Merc's ECM. I can't think of what they are called right now but there are a few out there.
