Does anyone know if a exoskeleton in washington is legal or not? I cant find anything on if it is or not.

I couldn't imagine it being illegal anywhere... Never heard of any issue with the law...

Only concern would be if you had tubing in your front line of sight, like windshield bars, or a tall stinger, blocking your view.

I've always thought that my rear-view mirror is more of a hindrance to my line of site! I'm constantly moving my head so I can see the lights and anything to my right. I am tall tho.
I read somewhere that someone used that as an argument for keeping his hood-scoop and won in court....but you know what the net is full of, don't you?

Most states have a limit as to how high a hood scoop can be, my old cowl hood was actually measured once back in NJ.

Of course it was one of those stops where he also checked my bumper and light heights, DOT #s on my lights, window tint shade, and exhaust DBs.

Your best bet is to contact your local Highway Patrol, just incase one of them has his Wheaties peed in...

yeah i asked a sheriff and he told me the same thing to contact the state patrol also because they didnt even know if it was or not.

I might still have my issues of Peterson's 4wd and off road where they had the region by region split ups over a few months and broke down state by state lift laws

What do you know, the last issue of this series I have is of the NW. Looks like you might have some issues based off of how strict they are on bumpers, but nothing specific to exo-skeletons. If you lived in Oregon or Idaho you'd be better off

You are going to have to talk to someone with the state and find out. Nothing listed here in PA about any exocage being illegal but it is also listed in the vehicle code nothing car protrude past a bodyline. Like most things it will be a grey area.

I live in Idaho and yes I am better off, because there are no lift laws here. As far as I know, the only laws in Idaho that ever get enforced are .....
Exhaust decibels (sometimes, depends on if you are driving a rice-rocket)
Tire exposure past fenders (depends on what mood the cop is in)
Auxiliary light placement and use on the road (refer to above)

Other than that, pretty much anything goes. After all, we can drive 4-wheelers, u.t.v, golf carts, and anything else of the off-road category. The only requirements are a headlight, brake/tail light, and a horn. And of course, it must be licensed in some way. So yeah, we are better off here. If you have problems in WA you can blame the apple maggots in Olympia.
