So the other day my friend saw something under my truck. I went over and looked and it turned out to be that my muffler had fallen off right by were it connects right before the muffler. So today I got a cherry bomb for 22 bucks from autozone and turn down and fixed the problem. It sounds quiter and it doesn't backfire as much obviously. But before I had a pretty major exhaust leak but I fixed that and then shortly after my muffler fell off. During this time period I would go about 200 and some miles with my 1994 4.0 5sp 2wd. Does an Exhaust leak affect it that much will I see an increase in MPG. One friend of mine has a 1999 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition and he has about the same size tank as me and he says he can go 350+ miles on a tank. Sorry about the long thread, I was just curious after fixing my exhaust.

It all depends on driving style but I would imagine the leak could cause a slight drop but nothing major...

Are you sure you guys have the same size tank? cause 350miles is alot for one tank.
