any input would be greatly appreciated.

Headers and a cat back would do the trick! ive heard JBA has great headers at good prices. as long as you get something that wont rust out too qiuckly. Also the stock cats flow well from what ive seen on other rangers, and read here. There isnt too much available so make sure to go with quality materials, and some headers out there look just like manifolds, they dont flow well at all.

If you just want to spend $40 buy a glass pack. I put one on my 2.0l ranger and besides the exhaust leak I have somewhere on the headers it sounds pretty nice. Not too loud or ricey but not to quiet.

its not recommended but gutting the cat IS an option. It might mess up the O2 sensors though.

Glasspack

Clamped on a 23" Cherry Bomb Glasspack sounds a little ricey but its not bad worth while for the money i spent its louder than it was now people can tell when its me lol :headbang:
