I was driving home from work yesterday around 2:00pm and was about 90 miles from home when I heard BAD rattling from under my Ranger. I was on the cell phone with my buddy and told him I had to hang up.

I got off the freeway I was on and right then and there is when the whole exhaust from the cat back fell off and was laying in the road. While I was stopped I saw the old man behind me get out of his truck (F-150) and try to remove the fallen exhaust from the roadway.

He must not have noticed that it was from my truck because when he grabbed it I saw him shaking his hand violently from burning the crap out of himself....HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

It was funny but I felt sorry for the blisters he must still have.

Well, I ended up parking down the road and walked back over to where my exhaust was laying and went to a local muffler shop where it costed $40.00 to have it reinstalled. CORRECTLY this time though.

Sorry so long.

$40 isnt bad, atleast now it wont fall off again any time soon. most of the time i would rather pay to have exhaust done than to do it myself anyways

Yeah, you're right.

I'm amazed at how the last idiot welded it up. I paid him like $150 or so for the whole set up and it was'nt even welded properly. It looked like it was spot welded. At least it's done properly now. Thanks.

i have done my own exhaust work, not anymore....the exhaust fell off of my first truck coming home from school and rolled down the hill, so i left my open header'd big block idling on the side of the road, took off my shirt and carried my exhaust back up to the truck....it used to be fun doing my own exhaust, now its worth it to have it done and done right!!

I had that happen to me but i welded it on right and everything and as i left the school, guess what, the pipe before the new pipe was so rusted by the cat that the whole thing just fell off. :icon_rofl:

I don't mind doing my own exhaust work just because i know i did a good job. all the exhaust i do i get new pipe and some of those pipe fitters, measure it all out and lay it out then weld it outside my truck then put it on.:icon_thumby: looks nice last forever.
