Is there any way of testing a EVR valve? I've got a Clymer manual and I couldn't see anything about doing it.

with the engine running, pull the vacuum line off the EGR valve and apply vacuum to the valve with a hand pump. the truck should run very poorly and/or stall with vacuum applied to the valve.

I'm looking to test the EVR, not the EGR. However, thanks for the info. That will help me figure out if it is my EGR or EVR that's causing the code.

whoops! i shouldnt skim so fast when i read :D

a continuity test on the EVR would probably suffice. you could also power it up and make sure it opens (open with voltage, closed without).
