Escorts 2nd SAS

If anything, an Aussie locker or one similar to it.

No Bryan, not without selectable hubs. If I get a front locker in any axle that sees street use it will be a selectable locker in front and rear axles.

This escalated quickly. Talk about putting a locker in and now we're talking about building super duty axles lol

.... get a lot of one back from taxes...hmmm

Lucky. I owe $1000s.... Logged 466 OT hours.... Bumped me up a few brackets.

I'll probably just go with SD axles

Talk to Brad about them.. He seems to have a lot of info on them since he is in the silly diesel scene where everyone is swapping to SD60s

That is the route I am going. 05+ SD axles. The tubes are 3-3/8 vs 3-1/8. 35 spline outers are stock. Strong unit bearings. Gears and carriers seem to be the same. Big joints. Huge brakes. Already setup for coils. I am still learning. The aftermarket is starting to catch up.

99-04 ones can be had for cheap. $500 a pair? The unit bearings kinda suck. They are just not sought after. But in our light applications, they should be fine?
Note: 99-02 F250s got D50s.

96-97 D60s have bolt on calipers. 95 and older are the slide pin style. 91 and older are King pin.

78-79 are the most sought after since the pumpkin is more centered, making the driver axles tube longer which allows the required space for activities.

I can get a pair of SD axles for roughly 200 to 500 depending on what all is included on them from take-a-part yard

Same here. All fronts are $189+ tax. But SDs have not made it to the yards yet.

There are tons of SD in mine

A 79 next to my 05.

Get a dually front pretty much guarenteed to be a 60 and the spacers just unbolt and now its a srw. Thats what mine is. Its an 04 and i got shit for picking a 60 with unit bearings but all i say is what does a super duty diesel weigh vs my 4.0 ranger? Not to mention all the new currie axles and such use super duty unit bearings in them

That's good info. I thought the spacer was part of the brake rotor.

I know the OBS (pre-99) 4wd dually hubs are 2 piece. Here are mine

Ben The 60 will have the number "248" cast in the web on the center chunk (248mm ring gear). The 50 will have a "229" cast in the web.

Will a B2 fuel pump work for the ranger? Or can I use the ranger pump in the B2 tank? Reason I'm asking is the ranger has a fairly new pump in it.

You will need the BII sending unit for the proper float and pump orientation. I assume the Gen II BII should be a 4 wire setup that plays nice with the 93-94 Ranger gauges. When we swapped to the 93-94 Ranger harness in the Gen I BII we had issues with the gauge working backwards and not proportional, so I retro fitted the Ranger float assy on the BII sending unit.

You should be able to buy just the sending unit minus the pump and reuse your Ranger pump.

Ill see if I can get pics of the BII setup next week. Its laying in the scrap pile now.lol FYI even with a skid plate...the tank can get smashed.lol
