Very true.
But, if/when this axle goes....it goes.

kinda why I like the idea of a 30......salvage yards are full down here as well

Right into the bed of my truck.

And I will be sure to remember that too.

super dooty axles can be snagged relatively cheap. There was a guy here locally that was selling the transfer case, front and rear axle with 4.10s for 500 bucks. If I had the money at the time, that stuff would be going under D.

i cant decide what to do. grab a 44 and start collecting parts to narrow/install it or just keep buying used crap for the 30.....or maybe just build another 4x4 to beat on since i'd like to keep the b2 nice

Id do like josh said super duty axles on leaves. They fit waaaay too well and even though they are still unit bearings its meant for a much heavier truck so you should be fine.

Never really understood the dana 30 sas every one i see ends up bent and eating bearings.

The Dana 30 was a cheap and easy swap for me. And for what I use the truck for is perfect.

And for the 1ton axles, I can get a set from a superduty for $250 a set. Just need to play the waiting game and watch the take-a-part for them to come in.

TJ rubicon 44 with RCV or Yukon shafts and an ARB. best setup for retaining the 5x4.5

And most expensive way.

yes. lol

I don't know any other axles that retain the 5x4.5 outside the turdy and the TJ rubi 44
