Escorts 2nd SAS

My back has been fine all year till this transition from winter to spring, it has been causing my upper back/shoulder muscles to be extremely tight and be painful at times. Also me slipping in the shower a few weeks ago and slamming my ribs onto the the edge of the bathroom counter hasn't helped either.

Who wants to help me change the steering box and pump? Don't think I will be able to for a while.

I hope your back feels better, my dad hurt his back a few weeks ago too. I could probably help you next Saturday May 4th.

Working all that weekend. But hopefully get better before then and swap it this weekend. Been driving last two days with no power steering. It leaks out faster than I could put it in, so I just said F it.:banghead:

And somehow your pump hasn't seized up causing worse problems? I have tried to steer manual with 32s, that almost killed me. 35s, I'll walk.

It's not completely empty, but as long as I am moving it has enough to turn the wheel with two hands.
The pump has been shot for a few months so its probably worn out enough to not seize?
The pump has stopped growling over a year ago.

There a good tech library write-up...how to get your P.S. pump to stop whining for cheap lol.

I have a Saginaw ready and waiting to go on. Just need time and my back to stop hurting before I attempt to lay over the fender to change it.

I can get mine to whine when I take a turn hard and long enough and I just let it whine...as long as I can get it to.

If mine lets go, I can get one from my local JY for $25, bracket, pump..everything.

That's why I don't want to go with larger tires, then I'm after upgrading everything else. Guess the term less is more applies.

Going to tackle the steering pump and bracket tomorrow. Hopefully my bracket will work and won't need redone.

Decided to wash the truck instead. Got more of that Michigan mud out from underneath. And replaced the driver seat with a set I got from my neighbor. That was a pain. Had to swap all the brackets from my seat to the other. The ones I got were for a single cab so it mounted different.

Monday I will start with the pump and box swap.

I need to find a better set for my truck, want to get a center consul for mine and get rid of the 60/40 seats I have. Good thing about my truck is I'm not worried about drilling new holes in the floor for the seat rails to bolt to, on its third set of seats now.

Oh yea and this...

:worthless:

Thats how the 90s full size trucks are too. Regular cab and crew cab (both front and rear) trucks can swap seats. Extended cab and Broncos can swap seats. But they cant criss cross. I have been trying to find nice pair of grey 40/20/40s for my dually to replace my 2 benches with. No luck yet...

The seats are a different color, grey instead of tan. I don't care, they are more comfy than what I did have.
It was the 60/40 and I cut out the center and made it a bucket.
