Awesome and quick build man! On the trackbar bracket, I definitely agree that it needs to be bolted/ welded to the bottom of the frame to eliminate the flex.

Yeah, looking at the above pic I see that is what needs to be done. I will have to take it off weld some plate to the bottom to bolt to. Then weld the whole thing to the frame....

After seeing it, looks to me if you made your brace flatter to the ground and weld that to the engine crossmember and leave it bolted to the track bar mount, I bet that would help out the most if you want to keep it removable. But honestly, plate the bottom and weld it to the frame would be the strongest. I would still keep your tie in at the engine crossmember and make it flatter or perpendicular to the track bar mount.
 
The 93 is a little more perpendicular than the 89, but not by much.

Actually I had to get it done asap because it is my daily driver and I had 3 days off to work on it.

Right under where the boxing in for the steering box is where I welded mine to the frame.
 
i've gotta go back and start looking closer into track bar brackets... on all the sas builds. i've decided to do my sas myself. so... time for more research! lol
 
Worked on it some today. Got the power mirrors on and working. Thanks legoms013, they look nice.

Also moved the axle forward about a 1 1/4". Also worked on the trackbar bracket some. The bolt I had at the engine crossmember for the brace was loose and was only a 3/8 bolt. I drilled out the hole bigger to 1/2" bolt with a locking nut. It is much tighter and will take it for a drive tomorrow to see if it made a difference or not.

Next thing I will do is fix the front bumper. Looks like crap and the tire almost rubs.

I still need to put the longer shackles on to make it level, but first I need to put the longer brake hose on. The bleeder screw on the wheel cylinder is froze. I don't want nor have the money for the rear brakes yet so that will be one of the last things fixed...
 
Having these long arms makes life so much easier when it comes to having to adjust stuff. Looks like your axle is about as forward as mine is by compairing how much of an angle the shock and coil is.

Speaking of coils how are the XJ coils riding for you compaired to what you had?

The XJ coils are nice. They are to soft to drive at speeds around corners. Body likes to roll more than I am comfortable with. I still need to get the sway bar mounted to the frame. The 93 is a little different than the 89 was so there will need to be some fabricating to get it to work, but there are other things more important than the sway bar...

I looked at the front bumper, it is beyond fixing. The brackets are all bent up. So i am thinking of just cutting the sides back a little to give more room for the tires? :icon_confused: IDK. what does everyone think?
 
the only problem will be when you try and make it so the arc from the fender matches it. i cut my bumper but i also cut my fenders at the same time so it all matched up still... i say time for a nice off road bumper like one i saw on a b2.... ill try and find a pic

EDIT: here it is. it's RacinNdrummin's bumper. but i mostly just mean the style of it. i have seen people do the same flat plate theme but in the stock ranger bumper shape

All the way to the UP? Don't think so. Maybe if you were within an hour drive, then that would be a good trade. LOL

I am just going to trim the sides. It's very annoying taking a corner and hearing the tire hit.... planning on just cutting 2.5" off the end. Should look alright. If it doesnt work, oh well, the bumper is all dented anyway.
