Checked the fuel pressure. With it running at idle its 28psi.

So my question is...pump or regulator?

Pinch off the return line. That eliminates the regulator, and puts everything the pump has to the rail and gauge.

You need a "parts vehicle". That's what I love about having the 92 explorer 2wd to swap parts around with lol.

If it was a b2 frame pump, I'd send you one. I replaced mine and didn't need to.

So, what would this accomplish?

It tests the reg. Or pull off the vacuum line to the reg...the pressure should rise to 60ish...

That would be easier than pinching the return line.

I have a few things I need to check tomorrow and this is one of them.

Found out the problem, two of the spark plugs were bad. Cylinder 3's plug was covered in crap and had no electrode left and the gap was 0.11
No. 4 had a build up on it too but was not as bad at 0.08. And plug 5 was at 0.06. The rest were at 0.055.

New plugs installed, drove 13 miles and checked codes. Got 157 and 158 so MAF was just now cleaned. Going to drive it a few more days and check codes again. If still getting same codes I will replace the MAF...

Now I need to find an aftermarket catalytic converter to replace the stock one I removed.

ahh damn it why didnt i think of that. thats what was wrong with my trucl when i was getting terrible mileage but i never got a constant code for the maf. did u try unplugging the maf and driving a couple days like that. my truck went from 9-11mpg with it plugged in to back up to 13-14 with it unplugged then once i replaced it back to around 15-18 depending on the driving style

Truck is running much better now, and so I plan on making a trip to Bundy Hill on the 26th. One last time this year.

Next year, depending on how my wife is feeling, will be taking a trip to The Badlands around April or May. Spend a couple days there, visit with some friends.

Oops, missed this post.

On my truck it is dependent on the MAF, won't run with it unplugged.

Mine runs fine with it bad. Much later model though...

Going to Bundy Hill this Saturday October 26. Get to try out the sliders.

Hopefully I don't have any problems.
