EGR, not ERG.
Probably insufficient EGR flow. There is a pipe that comes from one of your manifolds up to the intake manifold, where the egr valve is. You can test the egr valve easily. With the engine idling, pull the vac hose off the valve and use a vacuum pump to suck on it. If you are able to build and hold vacuum and you notice a big change in the sound of the engine, the valve is good. If it will not hold vacuum, or you do not notice a change in the engine noise, the valve needs to be replaced.
Coming out of that pipe are two small hoses that run over to the DPFE sensor. Make sure those lines are clean. With the engine off, take each line loose from the DPFE and blow into it. If you can't blow into it, the line is clogged, clean it out. If you can blow through both, and the valve is good, the sensor is bad. Replace it.
The sensors fail far more often than the valves.
