What are the opinions on a first bi-directional scanner? Im not a mechanic by trade but have a big family and work on at least 20 vehicles plus I maintain my shops 6 trucks. More and more i find myself needing more sophisticated tools to keep up. I have a power probe 4, a good DMM, amp probes ect. But my scanner is a "cheap" launch crp129 which is barely a step up from a autozone unit. It can read all the available pids and has some basic graphing but I need bi directional control (mainly for evap systems) and a faster refresh rate on graphing. My little scanner does epb, srs, oil reset, dpfe, and battery reset but i also need abs bleed feature.
My budget is around 2k but dont want to pay for stuff Ill never use. I know thats not big money for a pro scanner but i dont need key coding, ecu programming, or online database stuff. Heak i dont even need wifi, bluetooth and touchscreen but i realise getting anything bidirectional means moving to a level where all that stuff is standard.
Any techs have an opinion?
