Engine won’t start

When trying to turn on my brinco ii the cluster says brake what does this mean also this car has a 4.0L

When trying to turn on my brinco ii the cluster says brake what does this mean also this car has a 4.0L

The brake light being on means either

A) The parking brake is on

Or

B) There is a loss of pressure in brakes (bad line, etc) or the system is low on fluid.

Its normal for it to light up a few seconds after you turn the ignition on or start it.

Its not the cause of it not starting.

When you say its not starting....is it not cranking or not firing?

Not firing

Squirt some ether into it and see if it fires.

If it does-fuel issue

If it dont- spark

Do that and we'll go from there
