I have an 03 ranger edge 3.0 V6 about 94k miles on it
I recently started hearing a clicking noise when i would reach 4500rpms sometimes I'll get past it and wont hear it until 5000rpms. I put some engine treatment in it about 2weeks ago marvel myster oil to be exact it ran smooth for a while but recently i heard it again and now the truck is sluggish when i get closer to 60mph and if i push it to try and do 70mph my check engine light starts blinking and it seems to have no power to accelerate. Can anybody give some advice as to what may be wrong with my ranger.

Thank You In Advance,
Sebio

I would start by pulling the codes, given the fact your CEL is coming on.

Places like Auto-Zone will usually pull codes for free.

CEL doesnt stay on it blinks when i back off the gas it goes away they wont be able to pull any code if the light isn't on right?

If the light comes on the truck stores a code but I think they only do it if the light is actually on but if you tell them that it comes on and goes off they might still do it. Where is redline on these trucks? My truck has a rev limiter on it but 5 grand sounds a little high, but I have never pushed mine that far.

Mine did that for about a week when I got onto the freeway. It never stored the code though and stopped just as randomly as it started. The only thing I can think of was that my RABS sensor was dying about the same time and the computer just couldn't adjust for heavy loads without knowing how fast I was really going.
