engine @ trans swap

hi guys just wondering if this is a plug and play swap i picked up a 87 ranger 4x4 and want to swap the motor and trans. into my 89 bII both are 2.9 L but will switch from a4ld to 5speed thanks for any help!!!

almost plug and play. You will need to chisel out the rivets that hold the trans crossmember brackets to the frame and move the brackets to the front set of holes for an FM145 5 speed. Other than that and the rear drive shaft being too short now I can't think of anything you'll need that you won't have.

so what am i gonna need for a drive shaft?

go to the junkyard and find a b2 with a 5speed and grab the driveshaft out of the rear

Yeah, there will still be other stuff that needs to get swapped over, but there shouldn't be anything else that you need that you don't have on the donor.
