engine to bellhousing alignment dowel

How to remove without destroying ? or if not possible to get out intact its probably another dealer only item. Those babies are in there tight. need out to put on engine stand.

Only way I know how to is to just get vise grips on it and twist them. Then go to a machine shop they should have dowels, if not go to the stealership. Local parts store would be worth the trip don't know if they'll have them though.

yes, just get a good grip and wiggle them out.
You could heat the block around the dowel then cool off the dowel with compressed air or ??
Then give it a tug
metal expands when heated and shrinks when cooled, so make hole larger and shrink the plug

Or just stack up washers between the stand and the block until the dowel clears the stand.

To put the engine on a stand I will either flip the arm around so the extended piece faces away from the block at the doweled holes, or throw an old lug nut over the bolt at the non-doweled hole.

If you are really set on removing the pins without doing functional damage I found that running a tap inside them, and then threading a bolt in there works really well. After that you can grab the head of the bolt with some vice grips and pop it out with a slide hammer.
