im triing to figure out wich v8 would be the best to put in my ranger [1991 xlt] ive bin told to find one out of an explorer . im not the most expirienced rebuilder but i have lots of ambition and im fairly mechanicly inclined . so i m triing to find a solution that doesnt require extensive time at afab shop does any one now wich way i should go with this

The Explorer 5.0 has gt40p heads, the exhaust ports are a little different than other 5.0s
from what I understand. If you are using the exhaust manifolds from the Explorer I guess that wouldn't be a problem. Other than that it really doesn't matter. Many companies out there have Ranger/5.0 swap kits. I would look around for a built up Mustang motor if it were me.

v8 options are many.


anything that came in a regular pickup or car is fair game.


be cool to see the hot Lexus or Benz or even a V.W. w8 cyl in one of these things.
