I don't think Ford made the ohv 4.0 past 99 or 2000
I think that 95 -98 will swap in with no major issues. you might have to swap a sensor or two from your original engine to the donor in these cases, but everything should match up. at the worst, you might have to swap out the upper intake. (maybe someone else can chime in on this?)
94 and older, you will probably only be able to use the long block. you will have to swap out the entire intake, and all of the sensors (possibly the oil pan too... not sure on this tho.)
just keep the old engine handy to swap parts off of as you need them until you are done with the swap.
Personally, I would get a 98 or 99 if you can, that will probably be the least amount of headache.
