Engine swap needed

Hi to all,I'm in need of engine cross over info ,I have a '98 2wd ext cab with a 3.0l vin code u. I think I have found a probe engine not sure of the year yet but the owner says its a 3.0 will this work,and if not what engines will.Thanks

I have heard of people using a Taurus engine but not a Probe. Since you have a U model it is non-flex fuel. I would continue to look for a motor out of a 98-2000 Ranger that is a 3.slow.

its not a race winner for sure,but it goes from A to B,I just need it to keep getting me from here to there,speed and fun fun is what the FX4 is for.
