Engine oil in bottom radiator hose?

Got into an accident a couple weeks ago, lost traction in the rain and hit a light pole head on. Wasn't that bad of an accident, couldn't have been going more that 10-15mph. Anyway, the pole didn't make it to the radiator but it damage the core support right in front of it. The shop that is rebuilding the front end said there was engine oil in the bottom hose of my cooling system, not a lot, just a small leak. Could this have happened from the accident? Does this mean I need a new head gasket or can they just find the leak and tighten it down? How much should a new head gasket cost to be put in and how long does it take? I need my vehicle for work and I only have my weekend to get it fixed... and the truck is a 95 4x4 automatic with 72k miles.
