I think after 468k miles, the ecu in my 96 3.0 stick ranger is failing. truck runs fine but I keep getting random weirdo codes. I'll check it after one run and get one or more codes. then run it again and get completely different ones. a bunch of them always mention as the last system "possible faulty engine computer" or something similar.
I believe the the upper right corner code is GUS3? I may be wrong, will check this afternoon. do I have to use this specific code ecu or can I use one from a 97 3.0? I ask because there's a stickshift 97 3.0 ranger in the u-pull. it does have the later temperature gauge connector (the one for the dash) but I dont know what else might have changed?
I know with the 89-93 5.0 mustangs you can use pretty much any of the ecu's interchangably as fuel strategy is mainly what changed but not sure on these obd2 ecus...
