so im doing an engine swap for my '88 ranger and i know for a fact the engine currently just taken out of my ranger isnt the original engine. I couldnt find the year number on the block so all i got was the casting number.

its E82IE - 0 - 0a...doesnt sound right to me. Maybe i misread it but i did triple check it.

I know that E means it was made in the 80's...so does the 8 mean '88? If its an '88 then i will have to check the engine im going to put in my ranger cause its an '88 (from my knowledge and findings) and they look nothing like each other.

ya i think i might do that. If the engine that i just took out of my truck is an '88...then what the heck is the one im going to be putting in? cause i read that its also an '88 but it looks completely different. So yes, ill put of pics sometime soon.
