Bank one is on the passenger side.

Also, if you want to help your your tailpipe results a bit, get a spray bottle and fill it with water, get it hot and running before you go down and then spritz some water down the throttle. Not tons, just a few squirts. Cleans stuff out a bit.

here in nevada they plug into the test plug and use the trucks comp to do the smog on 96 and newer....ill gettem next year.....never herad of water before

Yup, works wonders. I've seen it be the difference between pass and fail on a tailpipe test.

you can also try running some seat foam through the vaccum line on the brake booster, this will clean carbon off the tops of the valves and pistons, can help to wake up lazy 02 sensors, and will clean deposits off from the bricks in your catalytic converter.

My high school shop teacher taught me the water trick in 1979 he said it made steam in the cylinder to clean it out.

Im willing to bet the Code just said that the o2 sensor was sensing a Lean or Rich condition, which in most cases is not the o2 sensors fault. I would guess a vaccum leak, dirty injectors, bad plug or two...

What are the codes???

atf also does the same thing as h2o and it makes it smoke like a banshee while your doing it. :headbang:
i always change my oil before an e-test- you would be amazed how much that by itself helps.

changed the o2 sensor at fault....drove 30 miles and still no check engine light...hopfully i got it this tyme

:icon_surprised:well the problem is the computer not learning all its parameters.....drove hundreds of moles and it wont learn and the check engine lite keeps comeing on. so im gonna swap motors into my ranger and the rear end and register the ranger in a different county where there is no smog and call it good.....ps the ranger means more to me than the exploder:icon_twisted:
