Howdy guys, I was driving home today trying to figure out where a sound was coming from, and in the process found the passenger side emergency brake cable rubbing against the shock, with a piece of twine holding it to the chassis. *facepalms* I'm gonna give whoever did that a good hearty punch in the head, but now I'm wondering where that cable is actually supposed to mount to? I can attach a picture if needed. Thanks in advance!

Hmmmm...well, on the older models there is no actual attachment place...they just sort of loop around everything and end up on the driver side...same as the driver side...

I've thought about tying mine off somewhere, but I definitely would not use the twine...too country and western...zip ties are always good...but there really isn't a good place to attach it from what I remember...unless you hung a bracket off the chasis somewhere...but if there is any flex in your vehicle, it would be one of the first things to get yanked off...

Yeah I'm none too pleased with that setup, there's got to be a better way to do it... Just for the hell of it while I was back there I pulled the tire off and found that while it had new drums and pads, the wheel cylinder was leaking like crazy... Wonderful! :/

Wheel cylinders are not too hard to change...but be careful with the line just in case...I ended up breaking mine when I tried to get them off...and that's how I ended up with all shiny new brake lines, connectors, flex lines and cylinders...

Fixing stuff is fun...till you damage something that costs about $10 more than you have to get through to the next pay check...;)

Those cables rub against the shocks from the factory, it's a chronic problem w/ Rangers. Holding it away w/ string (or something else) was a good thing.
I just replaced my axle hydraulic lines last week, also a (very) good thing....they rust real easy, and when they go you loose just about ALL your brakes.
