I know there have been quite a few posts of wipers not working or only partly working, I've read as many as I could find in hopes to find out what is wrong with mine but not yet.
They work fine on HI & LO setting and wash but not any intermitten. Also the wipers stop where ever they are when the switch is turned off(like in the middle of the windshield). I don't hear any relay clicking, anyone know where it is(92 ranger)? [Looking in the Haynes at dinner in a few]
A little back story: I was installing a plow on the truck recently and had to drill a couple small holes in the firewall to run the control cables. When I was doing that, the drill bit sucked up a dangling peice of electrical tape and took the 3 wires with it. It didn't really damage the wire, just enough to take the rubber casing off and ground through the bit to the chassis. So anywho it blew the fuse for the directionals and for a little while I didn't have a horn or cruise control. Got those back but still no intermitten wipers. I know I know I should have disconnected the battery but I didn't. Will next time.
I've got some stuff to try yet,(like clean the wiper switch, check the governer if I can find it, check wiper motor ground, etc.) but if there's any BTDT or any other helpful advise, let's hear it. It's always appreciated,
. THANKS.
