Just a quick question:
We did the duraspark conv on my 84 ranger and finally got it running (two bad connections, connected just not well) however the alt is not charging the battery. The mech says its probably the regulator. My question is were we supposed to take that off? My husband and I had other people "help" with this engine swap and somebody took it off. I still have it. So the question is can Just put it back on? Thanks.

Shouldn't have to remove the alternator regulator to do a duraspark conversion. Put the regulator back on and see if your alternator starts charging again, which I would expect.
