Can someone please point me to (or post) the pin diagram for a 1990 2.9l Ranger EEC. I'm getting the check engine light with a 67 error code. My mechanic loaned me his breakout box. I'm having trouble finding the pin diagram I need to make the diagnosis. Thank you!

Hello, I have a factory PCM pinout diagram for my 1992 R10...Ranger.

67 is a Neutral switch code
Do you have a manual or automatic transmission?

Manual uses a Clutch pedal switch
Automatic uses an NSS switch on the drivers side of transmission above shifter

Pin 30 is used for "neutral" or "in gear"

"In neutral" would limit RPMs to 3,000

And problem with "neutral" switch could also cause a No Crank situation, it prevents "starting in gear" so has a few functions
 
The problem is solved!!! And thank you for your replies.

I discovered this morning that my 2.9l has two engine coolant temp sensors. One connects to the gage in the dash. That one was working - and was working even before I installed a new engine coolant temp sensor in it, trying to fix a problem that did not exist. :(

The second temp sensor is located down under the air throttle and difficult to see. That one goes to pin 7 on the EEC. Once I found it this morning, I could see that the connector was unplugged. When I plugged that back in the check engine light disappeared and the engine is now starting and sounding much better. :):)

FYI - it is a manual transmission. Even though it was showing a 67 neutral safety switch code, it still runs. Now that there is no check engine light, I'm inclined to think that the 67 was a false code.
 
OK - in trying to edit my post, I ended up with two. Is it possible to delete one?
 
I believe the code 67 is due to pulling the codes with the manual trans in gear.
I'm not sure about deleting a post.

Yes, all fuel injection engines have 2 temp units
12volt temp sender for dash temp gauge(used on all engines since day one)
5volt ECT sensor for computer that runs the fuel injection(computer needed a more sensitive temp reading)

When Ford switched Rangers to a Digital dash in 2004 only the 5volt ECT sensor was needed/used

Yes, code 67 was not an "action" code you need to deal with in this instance
