Ok here we go,
2000 Ranger 2wd, 2.3l engine
about 4 months ago the alt fried on my truck. I had it replaced at the same time I change the battery.
I had a check engine light on the truck for about 5 years, the mechanic siad it was some sort of fuel vapor leak code and they had no idea how to fix it.
Well after the alt was change the check engine light is not on anymor (it lights up when you first start then goes out) but now I have an airbag light on.
So, I relaced alt in March over the last three weeks Ill be driving down the road get a couple miles and the truck dies, the voltmeterdrops and its dead. the first time it did this I let it sit overnight then the next day it started the voltmeter came into middle of meter and it was good, now I can jump it but the meter drops and sucks battery to nothing.
So what do you think bad alt???
