Hello all, I have a 2002 ranger,2.3 liter engine. The other day while on the freeway at 65-70 mph I heard what sounded like radio interference/static emanating from under the dash. The radio was off,the fan/ac was off,the vehicle was operating normally,no missing, surging, would accelerate normally. The noise diminishes at around 50 mph,but resumes when you accelerate up to 70. I checked the condition of the relays for the dome light ,the flasher etc. that are under the dash on the right side of the steering column for any arcing and if they were loose in their sockets,(neither ). I don't see any signs that would give me a clue as to what is going on. Would I be able to connect an OBD 2 reader to the socket and monitor the problem ? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Jim McGuinness

Could be the spring on the accelerator pedal rattling. It happens on mine under a certain load and RPM.

Thanks Shelton, i'll check it out,but it really doesn't sound like a mechanical sound or any type of harmonic noise that ive ever heard before. Jim
