Hi guy and gals.

Well.. Rita decided that she wanted a new starter, so I got her one. The install was a PITA cause the thing weighs like four million pounds....

Anyway.. the truck started fine four times, then the whole electrical system went down. I never actually got her rolling. I started her twice after installing to be sure it worked. Then I had to run to the store.. when I got back I had to go get my better half so I hop into Rita, hit the key and *purroommm* smooth like butter. I shifted into reverse and she stalled because I forgot to let the e-brake out. Pop the e-brake, shift into reverse... stall again and then nothing would come on.

No lights, horn, clicks from the solenoid... NADA.

Any suggestions? Is there a main fuse somewhere I'm missing?

Thanks in advance. :)

My uncle has this happen to him last month. The problem he had was he accidentally got one of the wires in between the starter and the engine when he bolted it up. So of course it smashed the wire and shorted the truck out. His wasn't so bad though because he was able to loosen it back up and repair the wire with electrical tape and keep going.

I'll drop it again today and see if that's the issue. I did install it in the dark last night. Thanks for the heads up DC.

Update::Update

At lunch today I got in Rita and I heard the "key in/door ajar" buzzer, but very faintly. Could the draw of the new starter have just toasted the battery?
