My dashboard caught fire this morning. I noticed smoke coming from the left side of the guage cluster. I shut the truck off and restarted it a few minutes later and it was fine. I smell burnt plastic. When it happened the truck was runningand the parking lights were on, the stereo was on, and the fan was on 1. I checked everything and everything still works. No bulbs are burnt out. I haven't checked the fuses yet and I have part of the dash apart incase it happens again. Is there anything that causes this that Rangers are known for?

Sounds like it might be a short in the wiring. You need to check the wires also and replace any burnt parts/wires/etc.

I have had my E-Brake Light Wire catch fire on my 85' BII, not sure if it's related to your issue tho...

Not really. Sounds like a wire rubbed bear over the last 14 years and finally caused a fire.

I took it apart last night. It was a wire in my headlight switch at the connector. Can anyone give me what the different wires (color and connector) for the 90 - 94 headlight switch?
